Betting from New Zealand in Crypto: Test Rugby, the Black Caps and the Kiwi Dollar in USDT
Country · Crypto betting
New Zealand bets on rugby, cricket, netball and racing, and watches European football before breakfast. This page sets out the spring and summer calendar in NZ time, works a New Zealand dollar through to USDT and back, and compares the networks that keep a small deposit cheap.

New Zealand's betting year is upside down compared with Europe's. The domestic rugby is done by June, the Test season runs through the spring, cricket fills the summer, and European football kicks off while the country is asleep. A bankroll kept in New Zealand dollars and staked in USDT adds one more step to that: an exchange rate that moves while the bet is open. This guide to crypto betting New Zealand-style takes the calendar first and the money second.
Crypto betting New Zealand: rugby first
The All Blacks play the Wallabies twice this month for the Bledisloe Cup, which New Zealand holds: on 10 October at Eden Park, kick-off 7.10 p.m. NZDT, and on 17 October in Sydney. In 2026 the Bledisloe is a standalone two-Test series, because the Rugby Championship has been set aside for the year while the new Nations Championship and the All Blacks' tour of South Africa took its window.
The Nations Championship brings the November Tests: Scotland on 8 November, Wales on 15 November and England on 22 November, with a finals weekend at Allianz Stadium in London from 27 to 29 November. Those games are played in a European afternoon or evening, so they land on a New Zealand early morning.
Super Rugby Pacific is the domestic thread. The 2026 season ran from 13 February to 20 June with 11 teams, five of them from New Zealand: the Blues, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders and Hurricanes, plus Moana Pasifika. The Hurricanes won the final 60–5 against the Chiefs in Wellington. The next season starts in February, so until then rugby markets mean Test rugby.
Cricket: the Black Caps and India's long visit
New Zealand Cricket styles the side BLACKCAPS, and this summer it hosts the largest inbound tour in its history. India arrive for five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests between 22 October and 1 December. The first two T20Is are at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on 22 and 24 October; the Tests are at the Basin Reserve in Wellington from 19 November and at Hagley Oval from 27 November. Sri Lanka follow in late January and February with three ODIs, three T20Is and two Tests.
Home series are played on New Zealand time rather than overnight, which makes live betting practical. A Test also runs for five days, so a match bet placed on day one is a stake left on the account all week. Our cricket page lists the markets.
Netball and Cup Week
The Silver Ferns play Australia for the Constellation Cup across four Tests: 18 October at Spark Arena in Auckland, 21 October at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch, then 25 October in Sydney and 28 October in Melbourne. Australia holds the cup after taking the 2025 series in extra time. Sportsbooks differ in how many netball markets they open, so compare what is on offer before staking.
Racing's peak is NZ Cup Week at Riccarton Park in Christchurch: NZ 1000 Guineas Day on 7 November, TAB Mile Day on 11 November and New Zealand Cup Day, with the NZ 2000 Guineas, on 14 November. Racing coverage differs from one sportsbook to the next, so check the meeting is listed before you deposit. The horse racing page explains each-way terms.
European football in New Zealand time
New Zealand moved to daylight time (UTC+13) on 27 September and stays on it until 4 April 2027. The UK clocks go back on 25 October and forward on 28 March, and central Europe changes on the same days. That gives four different gaps across the season.
| UK or European kick-off | NZ time to 25 Oct | NZ time 25 Oct to 28 Mar |
|---|---|---|
| Premier League, Saturday 15:00 UK | Sunday 03:00 | Sunday 04:00 |
| Premier League, Sunday 16:30 UK | Monday 04:30 | Monday 05:30 |
| Premier League, Friday or Monday 20:00 UK | next day 08:00 | next day 09:00 |
| Champions League, 18:45 CET | next day 05:45 | next day 06:45 |
| Champions League, 21:00 CET | next day 08:00 | next day 09:00 |
From 28 March to 4 April the gap is back to 12 hours; after 4 April, with New Zealand on standard time, it is 11. The practical point for crypto betting New Zealand-side: a Saturday afternoon bet in England is a bet you place on Saturday evening and settle with your Sunday coffee. The football page covers the markets.
From NZD to USDT and back
On 5 October 2026 one New Zealand dollar was worth 0.5601 US dollars. USDT tracks the US dollar, so the conversion looks like this:
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer to the exchange | NZ$100.00 |
| At 0.5601, before fees | 56.01 USDT |
| After a 1% spread and fee (example figure) | 55.45 USDT |
| Stake on the Bledisloe at 2.10 (example price) | 50 USDT |
| Return if it wins | 105.00 USDT |
| Back to NZD at the same rate | NZ$187.47 |
If the kiwi weakens to 0.5501 before you cash out, the same 105 USDT is worth NZ$190.87; if it strengthens to 0.5701, it is NZ$184.18. The usual route is a bank transfer to an exchange, a purchase of USDT or another coin, a withdrawal to your own wallet and then a deposit to the sportsbook; the wallet guide covers the middle step.
Networks that keep a small deposit cheap
For crypto betting New Zealand bettors usually move small sums, and on a small sum the network fee matters more than the coin. Three chains stand out on cost, per their own documentation:
- Solana: a base fee of 5,000 lamports per signature, which is 0.000005 SOL, plus an optional priority fee.
- XRP Ledger: a minimum cost of 10 drops, 0.00001 XRP, for a standard transaction; the XRP is destroyed, not paid to anyone.
- TRON: USDT on TRON is a smart-contract transfer that uses energy. A wallet with no staked TRX pays by burning TRX instead, so the cost depends on the chain's current parameters.
The exchange's withdrawal fee usually outweighs all three, so compare that before choosing. Then use a network the cashier lists: DuckDice lists SOL, TRX and XRP among its 10 coins, Wild.io the same three among 12, Rainbet names all three without a total, Rocketpot lists USDT on TRON and XRP, CoinPoker SOL and TRX, and Rakebit SOL and XRP. The USDT network guide compares them.

For crypto betting New Zealand accounts the table puts Vave first and then the cashiers with the most low-fee chains. Vave takes six coins, including USDT, and gives itself up to three days to pay under clause 8.1.
Vave first, then cashiers that list two or more of the low-fee chains: TRON, Solana and the XRP Ledger
