Crypto Cricket Betting by Format: Test Draws, DLS and the T20 Winter
Sport · Cricket
A Test can end with nobody winning, a rain-hit one-dayer is settled by a formula, and a T20 is over in an evening. This guide reads each format the way a bet slip has to, then lays out the 2026/27 winter from Perth to Paarl and prices a stake in USDT.

Cricket is three sports sharing one ball. A Test runs for five scheduled days and can finish with nobody winning. A one-day international can be halved by rain and decided by a formula. A T20 is over before dinner. For crypto cricket betting the money side works as it does for any sport: a coin goes in, a coin comes out, and the operator's terms decide how fast. So this page spends its words on the cricket itself: what each format does to a bet, which markets reward knowing the game, and what the 2026/27 winter holds for readers in South Asia, Britain, Australia and South Africa.
Three formats, three different bets
In crypto cricket betting the format decides how many outcomes a match has before you look at a single team sheet.
| Format | Length | Can it be drawn? | When rain falls | Effect on the match market |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Test | Five scheduled days, two innings a side | Yes | Time is lost; no target is recalculated | Three outcomes: home, away, draw |
| ODI | 50 overs a side | No; equal scores go to a Super Over | DLS sets a revised target; under 20 overs each is a no result | Two outcomes, plus the no-result risk |
| T20 | 20 overs a side | No | DLS again; the minimum is 5 overs each | Two outcomes; short matches survive more weather |
The Test draw is the part newcomers misread. The MCC's Law 16.5.2 says a match is a draw when it is not decided in any of the ways that produce a win or a tie. In plain terms, the clock beat both teams. That makes the draw a weather and pitch market as much as a cricket one. A flat surface in Adelaide and a forecast of showers on day four push the draw price down; a cracking pitch and clear skies push it up. A bettor who backs the home side at day one prices has quietly sold the draw to the bookmaker, and that is fine only if the forecast agrees.
Australia's four Tests against New Zealand this summer show the shape well. Perth starts on 9 December, Adelaide on 17 December, Melbourne on Boxing Day and Sydney on 4 January, each scheduled over five days. Four venues, four climates, four different draw prices for the same two teams.
Rain and the DLS method, read from the ICC rules
Limited-overs cricket cannot wait for tomorrow, so the ICC replaces lost time with a recalculated target. The ICC Men's ODI Playing Conditions in force from July 2025 put it in three steps:
- If play is suspended and an innings has to be shortened, the side batting second gets a revised target set for the overs it will face, calculated with DLS (the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern method). The target is a whole number, and one run less is a tie (clause 16.4.1).
- A result needs both sides to have had the chance to bat for at least 20 overs, unless one side is bowled out sooner or the chase is completed sooner. Below that, the match is declared a No Result (clauses 16.1.2 and 16.1.3).
- If the chase is suspended after 20 overs and cannot resume, the match is decided against the DLS par score at the moment play stopped; level with par is a tie (clause 16.4.2).
The ICC's playing conditions for the 2026 T20 World Cup apply the same logic with a smaller floor: five overs a side, rising to ten in the semi-finals and final. That is why a T20 can survive a wet evening that would wipe out a one-dayer.
For a bet, the useful point is that DLS does not cut the target in proportion to overs lost. A chasing side's position can look stronger or weaker on the revised number than it did on the original one, and in-play prices jump the moment the new target is announced. The second useful point is settlement. Whether a match-winner bet stands on a DLS result, and what happens to it on a no result, is written in the sportsbook's own cricket rules, not in the ICC document. Totals on an innings cut short are the most common casualty; read that clause before the monsoon or a Hobart drizzle reaches your slip.
Crypto cricket betting markets beyond the match winner
Most of the edge in cricket sits away from the headline price, because the side markets need knowledge of conditions and batting orders.
- Top batter and top bowler. A bet on one player outscoring his team-mates. Batting position shapes these prices more than reputation does: a top-order batter gets the balls that a number seven may never see. Two players level on runs make a dead heat, and the operator's dead-heat clause decides how much of the stake counts.
- Runs in an over. An in-play line, for example over or under 7.5. The first over of a powerplay and the death overs behave very differently; pricing them as equal is the mistake to look for.
- Session runs in a Test. A Test day splits into three sessions between the intervals. A morning session in Perth with a new ball and a fresh pitch is not the same market as the final session in Sydney on a wearing surface.
- Total sixes. A match or innings line. Ground size, the format and the team's batting depth all move it; a T20 at a short boundary and a Test at a large one belong on different planets.
- Draw or no draw in a Test. Covered above, and the most weather-sensitive price in the sport.
Prices on this page are decimal. If you think in fractions from a UK shop, the odds converter turns one into the other.
The 2026/27 winter for crypto cricket betting: series and leagues
The southern summer and the Gulf winter stack international series and franchise leagues back to back. Dates below come from the boards' and leagues' announcements; the last three rows are still provisional.
| Competition | Where | Dates | Status | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Australia v England, three ODIs | Perth, Adelaide, Hobart | 13–18 November 2026 | Scheduled by Cricket Australia | |
| Australia v England, five T20Is | Melbourne to Canberra | 21 November – 2 December 2026 | Scheduled | |
| ILT20 season 5 | Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah | 22 November – 20 December 2026 | 34 matches, six teams, final in Dubai | |
| Australia v New Zealand, four Tests | Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney | 9 December 2026 – 8 January 2027 | Scheduled | |
| BBL\ | 16 | Opener in Chennai, then Australia | 12 December 2026 – 26 January 2027 | 44 matches |
| SA20 season 5 | Six venues, final at Newlands | 17 January – 21 February 2027 | Scheduled | |
| Australia in India, five Tests | India | Expected from mid or late January 2027 | BCCI dates not confirmed | |
| Australia v England, 150th anniversary Test | MCG, day-night | 11–15 March 2027 | Scheduled | |
| IPL 2027 | India | Window of 10 March – 15 May under discussion | Not confirmed | |
| PSL 12 | Pakistan | 19 March – 2 May 2027, tentative | Not confirmed |
Two practical notes for the slip. First, time zones. Cricket Australia lists the Boxing Day Test at 10:30 AEDT, which is 05:00 in India, 04:30 in Pakistan, 01:30 in South Africa and 23:30 on Christmas night in the UK. The Perth Test starts at 13:20 AEDT, or 07:50 in India. Pre-match bets close at the first ball, so the toss happens while much of the audience is asleep. Second, the overlap. If the PSL keeps its tentative dates and the IPL takes the window under discussion, the two leagues run side by side from mid-March, and team news for both arrives on the same evenings.
Readers in a specific market will find local kick-off context on the India page, the Pakistan page and the South Africa page.
A USDT cricket stake, worked through
Take a reader holding 200 USDT for the New Zealand series. The figures below are an example, not quoted prices.
- Before the Sydney Test, a forecast shows rain on days two and three. The draw is offered at 3.40. A 20 USDT stake returns 68 USDT if the match is drawn, a profit of 48.
- The same reader backs a home win in an SA20 match at 1.85 with 15 USDT. A win returns 27.75 USDT.
- Total exposure: 35 USDT, or 17.5 per cent of the balance, across two matches on different continents.
Why USDT rather than bitcoin for crypto cricket betting? A Test lasts five days and a bet can sit open for all of them. A stake in a dollar stablecoin is worth the same when it settles as when it was placed; a stake in BTC is not. The choice of network then decides the fee on each deposit and withdrawal, and for 20 USDT stakes the fee matters. The USDT networks guide compares them, and the USDT betting sites page lists which cashiers take the coin.
SportsbookDeposit in USDT, BTC or ETH and bet the same dayPlace a bet18+ · the operator's terms apply to every betThe payout side is where operators differ. Vave lists USDT among six coins and gives itself up to 3 days to pay (clause 8.1), splitting withdrawals from 50,000 USDT into parts (clause 8.8). Rocketpot lists USDT on both Ethereum and TRON, which helps when the fee on one chain is high, and allows itself 72 hours (clause 11.3). Wild.io prints 10–60 minutes. For a bettor who wants winnings back before the next Test starts, those clauses matter more than the price of the draw.

The table below is ordered for crypto cricket betting in particular: cashiers that list USDT alongside a cheaper chain coin, which suits the small, frequent stakes of a long series. It says nothing about which cricket markets each site prices; check the fixture list after you sign in.

Before the first ball: a short checklist
- Note the format and whether a draw is possible. A Test bet is a three-way bet.
- Check the forecast for every day of the match, not just the first.
- Read the sportsbook's cricket rules for DLS results, no results and reduced-overs totals.
- Convert the start time to your own clock and place pre-match bets before the toss.
- Keep the stake in USDT on a low-fee network if the bet will stay open for days.
- Set a limit for the series before it starts; the responsible gambling page covers the tools.
Crypto cricket betting rewards patience more than most sports, because a single Test is five days of information. Use them.
Long formats tie up a stake for days, so the coin and the cashier matter more than in a T20. Bettors staking small amounts should read low deposit crypto betting sites; for event contracts on series results, see prediction markets.
