Betting with ETH: what gas, slots and 0x addresses mean at the cashier
Coin · Ether
Ether is accepted by most crypto sportsbooks, but it is the coin whose deposit cost moves the most from hour to hour. This page explains gas, the wait for finality and the network trap behind every 0x address, then lists the operators whose cashier names ETH.

Ether has a habit that most other betting coins do not share to the same degree: the cost of moving it depends on how busy the network is at that minute, and that cost is paid in ETH even when you move a different token. For a bettor this turns into three questions. What will the deposit cost? How long before the cashier credits it? Is the address you copied valid on the network you are about to send on? This page answers those, then sets out the Ethereum betting sites whose cashier names ETH.
Ethereum betting sites with ETH in the cashier
Of the twelve operators on this site, nine name ETH among their deposit coins in their own terms or cashier pages. The table keeps eight. Vave sits first; the others follow by the length of their coin list, because a long list gives you somewhere else to go on a day when gas is high.

What each one adds for an ether holder:
- Vave lists ETH among six coins and gives itself up to 3 days to pay out (clause 8.1).
- Large Vave withdrawals, from 50,000 USDT, may be paid in parts (clause 8.8).
- Rakebit has the longest coin list here, fifteen coins, and caps withdrawals at €10,000 per 24 hours.
- Rocketpot is the clearest cashier for the token question below: it shows USDT on Ethereum and USDT on TRON as two separate lines.
- Wild.io quotes 10–60 minutes for a payout, the shortest window printed in the terms we hold.
- DuckDice and CoinPoker both list ETH next to SOL, which is handy if you want a cheaper second coin in the same account.
- Rainbet names ETH without giving a total coin count.
- Bspin keeps a short list: BTC, ETH and USDT.
Metaspins also names ETH and is left out only to keep the table short. How we score operators against one another is set out on our methodology page.
What gas does to a small deposit
Every Ethereum transaction pays for computation in gas. According to ethereum.org, the fee equals the units of gas used multiplied by the base fee plus the priority fee, the tip that goes to the validator. The base fee is burned rather than paid to anyone. A plain ETH transfer uses 21,000 units of gas.
That figure does not depend on the amount. Sending the equivalent of five pounds and sending the equivalent of five thousand use the same 21,000 units. What moves is the price of each unit. The base fee is set by the blocks before yours, so it climbs when blocks are full, and when demand is heavy senders outbid each other with bigger tips. The fee on your deposit is decided by everyone else using Ethereum at that moment, not by your stake.
The arithmetic, starting with ethereum.org's own worked case: 21,000 gas at a 10 gwei base fee plus a 2 gwei tip comes to 252,000 gwei, or 0.000252 ETH. A gwei is a billionth of an ether. Our example for a busier hour: at a 100 gwei base fee and the same tip, the identical transfer costs 0.002142 ETH, eight and a half times as much for the same deposit.
For someone who bets small on Ethereum betting sites and tops up often, this is the true cost of the coin. A modest deposit sent at a congested hour can pay more in gas than the stake it was meant to fund. The fee is also charged when a transaction fails, so a rejected send still costs money. Two habits help. Look at the gas estimate in your wallet before you confirm, and fund the account once with a larger amount instead of five times with small ones. If frequent small deposits are the plan, a coin with a flat, tiny fee may suit you better; our Solana page covers one.
Twelve-second slots and the wait for finality
Ethereum divides time into slots of 12 seconds, grouped into epochs of 32 slots. A transfer usually lands in a block within one slot or a few, which is why your wallet shows it as confirmed so quickly.
Confirmed is not final. ethereum.org defines finality as the point at which a block cannot change without a large amount of staked ETH being destroyed, and gives the current time to finalise a block as about 15 minutes, which is two epochs.
Which moment the cashier waits for is the operator's choice. Some credit after a set number of blocks, some wait for finality, and none of the terms we read print the rule, so we cannot give it per site. The practical reading: if the transfer shows as sent and your betting balance has not moved after a few minutes, that is ordinary for ETH. Give it a quarter of an hour before you contact support, and never send the same deposit twice while you wait.
This shapes when to use the coin. Ether is for funding the account in good time before a match, not for a bet you decide on as the teams walk out.
One 0x address, many networks
An Ethereum account address has 42 characters: 0x and then 40 hexadecimal characters, taken from the last 20 bytes of a hash of the public key. Because the address comes from the key and not from the chain, it is valid on every network that runs the Ethereum Virtual Machine. ethereum.org says so plainly: a wallet with a recovery phrase can use the same address on all EVM-compatible chains.
In your own wallet that is convenient. At a betting cashier it is a trap. The 0x address on the deposit screen does not tell you which network the operator watches. Your wallet will send ETH or a token to that address on any EVM network you have selected, and the transfer will succeed there. If the cashier credits only Ethereum deposits, the coins sit at an address the operator controls, on a chain it does not read. ethereum.org is direct on both halves of the problem: assets on different networks are not interchangeable, and no one can reverse a transaction. Getting the money back then depends on the operator's goodwill.
The defence is dull and it works. Read the network name on the deposit screen, select the same network in your wallet, and send a small amount first the first time you use a new cashier.
Native ETH or a token on Ethereum
Many cashiers on Ethereum betting sites put USDT and USDC next to ETH. On Ethereum these are ERC-20 tokens: contracts that keep their own balances, running on the network but separate from ether itself. Three things follow.
- Gas is still paid in ETH. ethereum.org states that fees must be paid in ether, so a wallet holding only USDT on Ethereum cannot send it. Keep some ETH beside the token.
- A token transfer runs contract code, and gas is a charge for computation, so at the same gas price it costs more than a plain ether send.
- The same stablecoin exists on several networks, and they are different deposits. USDT on Ethereum and USDT on TRON need different addresses. Our guide to USDT networks covers that choice.
Why hold a stablecoin at all? With native ETH, the value of your balance moves with the ether price between deposit and settlement. Win a bet and the payout in pounds, rupees or rand still depends on where ether trades when you sell. A dollar token removes that second bet; ETH keeps it.
Layer 2 networks, and why not to assume
Arbitrum, Base and Optimism are layer 2 networks: chains built on top of Ethereum that process transactions away from it and post the results back. The layer 2 page on ethereum.org shows average costs on these networks far below the cost on Ethereum itself. They also use the same 0x addresses.
That is the network trap from the section above in its sharpest form. This page does not claim that any of the Ethereum betting sites listed here accepts a layer 2 deposit. If the deposit screen says Ethereum, send on Ethereum. If your ether sits on a layer 2, move it to Ethereum in your wallet or at an exchange first, and count that cost before you decide the deposit is worth making.

A withdrawal has two legs. The network leg for ether is short, a few slots to a block plus finality. The operator leg is whatever its terms allow, and this is where the sites differ:
- Wild.io: 10–60 minutes.
- Rocketpot: within 72 hours (clause 11.3); documents above 0.05 BTC or $2,500 (clause 11.4).
- Vave: up to 3 days (clause 8.1); documents may be requested before any payout, with 14 days to supply them (clause 8.7).
- Rainbet: 5–15 minutes in normal conditions, a figure from its home page rather than a clause in the terms.
When you fill in the withdrawal form, the same rule applies as on the way in: an address on Ethereum that you control, with the network named on the form matching your wallet. Operators ranked by printed payout time are on our fast withdrawal page.
Before you send ETH: a short checklist
Whichever of the Ethereum betting sites you pick, the same five checks cover most of the ways an ether deposit goes wrong:
- The deposit screen names Ethereum, and your wallet is set to the same network.
- The gas estimate is acceptable compared with the amount you are depositing.
- If you are sending a token, there is ETH in the wallet to pay the gas.
- On a new cashier, a small test amount goes first.
- You allow about 15 minutes before chasing a deposit that has left your wallet.
Decide your deposit limit before you open the cashier, not after a losing bet. Our responsible gambling page explains the tools.
BNB Smart Chain uses the same 0x address format, which is how many wrong-network deposits happen; the BNB betting sites board covers it. USDC on Ethereum is covered on USDC betting sites.
