Betting with LTC: quicker blocks, simple fees and when to pick it
Coin · Litecoin
Litecoin keeps Bitcoin's basic design but targets a block every two and a half minutes. Here is what that changes for a sportsbook deposit, how its addresses and MWEB work, and when a stablecoin is the better tool.

Litecoin began as a lighter cousin of Bitcoin, and in a sportsbook cashier it still plays that role. The design is close to Bitcoin's, but the network aims for a new block every two and a half minutes rather than every ten, the fee is paid in the coin you are sending, and the address formats are easy to tell apart once you know the prefixes. The questions worth asking before you use LTC are practical ones: which operators take it, how long they take to pay, and whether a stablecoin would serve the same bet better.
Litecoin betting sites in this comparison
Seven operators name LTC in their published coin lists. We have not included operators whose coins only appear inside the cashier after login, since we cannot confirm what they take. After Vave, the order runs from the widest cashier to the narrowest, because a wide cashier lets you switch coins later without opening another account.

How these litecoin betting sites describe their payout times:
- Wild.io: 10–60 minutes.
- Rainbet: 5–15 minutes in normal conditions, a figure from its home page rather than its terms.
- Vave: up to 3 days (clause 8.1).
- Rocketpot: within 72 hours (clause 11.3).
- Metaspins: its withdrawal section (section 12) prints no time at all.
- Rakebit and DuckDice: list LTC; no payout window is quoted for them on this page.
One detail from the coin lists is useful here. Metaspins names LTC but does not name USDT in its published list, so on that cashier Litecoin is one of the quicker coins you can choose. The other six litecoin betting sites list both.
Two and a half minutes per block
Litecoin Core sets the target block spacing at 2.5 × 60 seconds, which is 150 seconds. On average that is four Litecoin blocks for every Bitcoin block. Blocks are found by mining, so the spacing is an average, not a timetable: some blocks follow each other within seconds and others take several minutes.
What a punter feels is the confirmation wait. Litecoin betting sites each choose how many confirmations they need before crediting a deposit. As a worked example, if a cashier asks for six confirmations, the target rate puts that at about fifteen minutes on Litecoin, against about an hour on Bitcoin. That gap is the main reason people keep a little LTC for topping up an account shortly before a match.
The network leg is only half of a withdrawal, though. The operator's approval window, listed above, comes first, and on most cashiers it is far longer than any block time. A coin that confirms in minutes does not shorten a three-day review.
Fees on Litecoin
Litecoin Core prices transactions the same way Bitcoin does: by size, not by the amount moved. Sending 0.5 LTC and 50 LTC in two transactions of the same shape costs the same. The wallet shows the fee before you sign, and that figure, rather than any number quoted on a website, is the one to compare.
For litecoin betting sites the other advantage is that the network fee is paid in LTC itself. If you hold 2 LTC, you can send almost all of it, and the fee comes out of the same balance. Tokens do not work like that. On Ethereum, gas has to be paid in ETH, so a USDT transfer there needs a separate ETH balance. On TRON, a TRC-20 transfer consumes bandwidth and energy, which come from staked TRX or are paid by burning TRX. Our guide to USDT networks goes through those costs in detail.
Address prefixes: L, M, 3 and ltc1
| Starts with | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| L | Pay to Public Key Hash | The original single-key format |
| M | Pay to Script Hash | Litecoin's own prefix for script addresses |
| 3 | Pay to Script Hash, legacy | Used by Litecoin Core 0.15 and older; shared with Bitcoin |
| ltc1 | Native SegWit (bech32) | Bech32 encoding, so letter case does not matter |
| ltcmweb1 | MWEB | A separate format for the extension block layer |
The 3 row is the one to watch. Before the M prefix arrived, Litecoin script addresses looked exactly like Bitcoin ones, and the Litecoin documentation now advises wallet developers to stop using the old prefix. If a deposit page shows an LTC address beginning with 3, go back and confirm you picked the LTC line and not BTC, then send from a wallet that knows it is sending Litecoin.
Cashiers that list many coins put LTC next to BTC, BCH and DOGE, and their addresses can look alike at a glance. Read the prefix before you paste; the blockchain will not undo a transfer to the wrong line, whichever of the litecoin betting sites you use. A wallet set up for betting keeps each coin in its own account, which makes that check easier.
MWEB, briefly
MWEB stands for MimbleWimble Extension Blocks. It is described in LIP-0003, the Litecoin Improvement Proposal published by the Litecoin Project. MWEB is an optional layer that runs alongside the main chain. Coins move into it with a peg-in transaction and back out with a peg-out, and while they are inside, transaction amounts are hidden. Nodes that never upgraded still accept the blocks, which is why it could be added as a soft fork.
For a deposit, the practical point is simple. The addresses a cashier shows begin L, M or ltc1, and those are main-chain addresses. If your wallet holds coins in its MWEB balance, paying such an address means moving them out of the extension block first. Some wallets do this in one step and some do not, so check before a match rather than during one. This page does not list any operator as issuing MWEB addresses.
SportsbookDeposit in USDT, BTC or ETH and bet the same dayPlace a bet18+ · the operator's terms apply to every betWhen LTC is the better choice than USDT
Litecoin is a volatile coin. Its price moves against the pound, the rand or the rupee in the same way Bitcoin's does, while USDT is designed to track the US dollar. That one difference decides most cases.
An example with a price picked for easy arithmetic rather than taken from any market: you deposit 4 LTC when one coin is worth £70, so your balance is £280. You place two bets and leave the rest in the account for a fortnight. If LTC falls 15 per cent in that time, the untouched part of the balance has lost value before a single bet settled. The same deposit in USDT would have held its dollar value.
LTC tends to suit you when:
- You already hold LTC and would otherwise convert it.
- The cashier lists LTC but not USDT.
- You want one coin, one network and a fee paid from the same balance.
- You top up shortly before a fixture and withdraw soon after it settles.
USDT tends to suit you when the stake must keep a fixed value, when a balance will sit in the account for days, or when you budget your betting in a local currency. Our USDT page compares operators on that route, and the Bitcoin page covers the coin Litecoin was modelled on.
A short LTC routine
- Pick the LTC line in the cashier and read the address prefix.
- Send a small first deposit and wait for it to be credited.
- Note the operator's payout window before you bet, not after you win.
- Withdraw to an address you control, and check the prefix again.
Litecoin betting sites differ far more in their withdrawal terms than in their handling of the coin, so the payout list above matters more than the block time. If betting stops feeling like a choice, our support page lists where to get help.
